I love all your videos Robin, the ones on linked in are also amazing. Please keep doing what you are doing, I’ve learned illustrator from complete scratch from your videos alone. Thank you 💖

Hi, I'm Robin,
a vocal and often sarcastic ex-New Yorker who loves using Adobe Creative Suite for fashion design. My idea of fun is making the most tedious illustrator pattern brush I can think of; exploring the number of different patterns I can possibly generate in an hour; or finding new ways to make illustrator the most versatile and effective tool at my disposal. Yes, I do need to get a life. My credentials are an MFA in Theater Production and Design Technology from Cal Arts followed by a Certificate in Fashion Design from CDC. My years working in both fashion and entertainment have given me a unique perspective on both industries and my time spent working in my dad’s print shop didn't hurt either (just don’t tell him I said so). I currently teach classes in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for Fashion Design and Portfolio Presentation at Otis College of Art and Design, The Art Institute of California - Hollywood; Digital Illustration for Costume Design at UCLA; have Authored six Adobe for Fashion Design courses at LinkedInLearning.com and am busy writing more books on Illustrator and Photoshop for Fashion Design. |
I have been employed as the Head Designer for a plus-size clothing company, a textile designer and technical illustrator and have created over 500 patterns for my series of royalty-free seamless pattern books. Before branching into fashion, I designed and created graphic props for numerous TV shows including JAG, CSI, NCIS, First Monday, Las Vegas, Arliss and DIRT, where I honed my talent for speed, efficiency, and acronyms. I offer you my savvy and intuitive approach to drawing CADs the smart way (as in work smart not hard). My extensive and hybrid career in entertainment, graphics and fashion have given me the practical, industry experience and know how that allows me to bring a fresh yet seasoned approach to my students.
I am proud to say I have had the honor of teaching some of the best and they do me proud.
